While this may mean “ok” in our world, in Iran it is an insult. It has the same connotation as the middle-finger gesture in our world. Why this is so is not fully explained. Just know that it is better to avoid using it, particularly with people you just met. While some realize that it has a different meaning for westerners, it will still surprise them and confuse them.
