In Islam, Friday is the weekly day of prayer. Most Middle-Eastern and predominantly muslim-majority countries consider Thursday and Friday as the weekend. This goes true for Iran, and many places will be closed from Thursday afternoon until Saturday morning. Also be aware that National holidays also have a nationwide closure of establishments. Check the calendar to make sure so you can prepare. While your hotel and its outlets will remain open, shops and restaurants around may be closed.
