Don’t Complain About Tourist Prices

Don’t get surprised that a lot of tourist attractions have different prices for tourists from the price they charge residents. It has nothing to do with any anti-American sentiment, it has to do with inflation. Even shops and restaurants may have higher prices for tourists, but it is still affordable. Locals are given lower prices in tourist attractions to encourage domestic tourism. Don’t feel slighted, it is not personal, it is economics at work. Tipping is not required, but it is always welcome. Though you don’t have to tip cab drivers. Reserve the tips for servers and bellboys in your hotel, especially if they carry your luggage up to the 4th floor in hotels where there are no elevators.
