On a classier note, here’s a 1955 snapshot of royal children Princess Yvonne And Prince Alexander of Sayn-Wittgenstein-Sayn, smoking and drinking hard while maintaining their grace and composure. In this photograph, Princess Yvonne is shown tipping back a bottle of Dry Sack sherry whereas her twelve-year-old brother Prince Alexander unperturbedly sits beside her, with a cigarette in his hand. The picture was taken by their own mother, Princess Marianne Sayn-Wittgenstein-Sayn, while they were aboard a private yacht off the coast of Mallorca. Princess Marianne, also known as Princess “Manni” or by her artistic moniker “Mamarazza,” was an accomplished photographer, with her prints featured in many German magazines and gallery exhibitions. Hopefully, this photo was the result of deliberate creative composition and not irresponsible parenting.
