The Familiar Sight Of A Napalm Strike

One of the most devastating weapons the U.S. had in its arsenal, the napalm was considered one of the most successful, if not the most inhumane, for its effect on people is downright horrific. First developed during the second world war, then used in the Korean War, this chemical compound was mixed with gasoline and when exploded, releases a large amount of carbon monoxide that poisons the air, causing much greater damage. The familiar sight of a napalm strike above is just an example of the almost 400,000 tons that were used in the war between 1963 and 1973. The word napalm will conjure images of burning villages and people running with their skin peeling off after being doused with the chemical.
