Two elderly women share an emotional moment, having survived two decades of war where they most likely saw their loved ones taken away from them, in all likelihood outliving their sons and daughters, or even grandchildren. The fall of Saigon at the end of April 1975 saw the war officially ending, with the last of the American troops evacuated from the embassy by helicopters and President Dương Văn Minh and the South Vietnam government surrendering to the North Vietnamese Army. The two Vietnams would subsequently be united to form the new Socialist Republic of Vietnam.
