One of the most successful alpine skiers of all time, and the hottest, Lindsey Vonn, is a former professional skier, having just retired from the sport in 2019 due to injuries. Among her accomplishments were four World Cup overall championships, including three consecutive from 2008 to 2010, earning her the Laureus Sportswoman of the Year Award. She’s won more crystal globes than any other skier, and her 82 wins at the World Cup is the all-time record for women, just four shy of the record for men. She was a four-time Olympian, in 2002, 2006, 2010, and 2018 (missed the 2014 Sochi games due to injury), bringing home a bronze (super-G) and a gold in 2010 (downhill) and another bronze in 2018 (super-G). She was such a dominant force in her 15-year run in the sport, still competing at the highest level in her 30s and setting new records along the way, until her knee injury forced her to retire following a third-place finish at the 2019 World Championships in Sweden.
