The fame and popularity that came after her photo went viral actually did more harm than good for Allison, who suddenly found herself thrust in the limelight, with her looks overshadowing her efforts and achievements in the sport. In the past, she would refuse offers to promote brands, somehow feeling unworthy as she felt it was only her looks that mattered. It was only after her Olympic dreams were dashed when she began considering the modelling offers that she was still getting, including those from Nike, Uniqlo, and even a partnership with GoPro. She became a sportswear and fitness model, but continued to compete and even snatched a third place finish at the 2017 Austin Longhorn Invitational. It was also that year when Allison met and started dating professional golfer Rickie Fowler. Within two years, the couple was engaged, and got married in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico in October 2019. The now-31 year old is still in top shape and drop dead gorgeous, and pole vaulters the world over should thank her for putting the sport in the spotlight, regardless of high the bar was set.
