Zsuzsanna “Zsu” Jakabos is a four-time Olympic swimmer from Hungary who represented the country at the 2004, 2008, 2012, and 2016 games, with her best individual result coming at the 200m butterfly event in the London games where she finished seventh in the finals. Born in April 3, 1989 and hailing from Gyor, the sixth largest city in the country, Zsu began to take an interest in swimming at a young age, and eventually took lessons and started competing when she was eight. She is a two-time European Short-Course champion, in the 200 butterfly and the 400 IM, and was named Hungarian Swimmer of the Year in 2005. She was also awarded the Bronze Cross of Merit of the Republic of Hungary, considered the second highest State Order of Hungary, in 2008. In 2013, she went through surgery for her shoulder due to chronic inflammation but was able to return to peak form in time for the 2016 Olympics, where she was part of the 4x200m freestyle relay team that finished sixth, matching their previous best outing at the 2008 Beijing games.
