Tayla Harris is a two-sport wonder, and a what a wonder she is to behold. The talented athlete from Brisbane is an Australian rules football star who plays center half-forward for the Carlton Football Club in the AFL Women’s (AFLW). She is also a professional boxer with an undefeated record of 8-0-1, holding both the Australian female super-welterweight and middleweight title. She joined the Brisbane Lions in the first season of the league in 2017 before joining Carlton the following year. She made the AFL Women’s All-Australian team for both years while also becoming the two-time leading goalkicker for the Blues in 2018 and 2019. Training out of the Team Ellis Gym in Melbourne, she made her professional debut inside the ring against Margarite Butcher in June 2017, winning by decision. She has then won her last three fights via TKO, the last of which was in November last year for the super-welterweight title against Janay Harding.
