Believe it or not, even the legendary Italian sports car company had their share of lemons. The first Ferrari Mondial (1980) was a big red disaster. It was a relatively heavy 2 + 2 coupe with a mere 214 hp from its mid-engine V8. The transistors-based electronics had more bugs than you could imagine. Eventually, every system would fail, not to mention the acrid smell of burning wires. It was marketed cheap, but that didn’t make it worth it. Mondials eventually got better after. But many remembered the embarrassing days of the great Ferrari.
