The day GM unveiled the Aztek at a Detroit auto show, it elicited a disgusted gasp from the audience. That about said it all. It was instantly disliked by the audience, even without trying it out. It seemed that the Aztek design had been fussed-over, cost-shaved, until it had been reduced to a plastic-clad, bulky mess. It actually looked scary and deformed, something dogs would run away from. It was ugly to say the least, but it had its good points. Customers who bought it said it performed well. Or maybe they just said that to hide their embarrassment. We suppose if you did own one, you would know.
