1997 Plymouth Prowler

This car was the tribute to the American hot rod. It looks like a customized hot rod for the 22nd century. Car designers had powerful computer tools at their disposal allowing their imaginations to run wild. The prowler was one such project. But they forgot to make it a real hot rod. Intent on containing costs (it sold for $38,300 in 1997), Chrysler stuck its standard issue 3.5 liter V6 under the hood, good for a mediocre 250 hp. And it didn’t have a manual transmission, so it did not function like a hot rod. You can still find Plymouth Prowlers for sale, as it does look eye-catching. But if you think it has the power it looks like it has, well, be ready for disappointment. Good as a showcase vehicle though.
