Wrong vehicle at the wrong time. It was introduced shortly after the 9/11 catastrophe, and sent all the wrong signals.It was arrogantly huge, militaristic, and was difficult to maintain. Worse, it was a gas guzzler. It was also a PR catastrophe for GM, that was already dealing with problems repossessing and crushing the few EV1 electric cars at the time. It surely didn’t help the car company’s image any. While some celebrities decided to purchase the Hummer H2, maybe as a positive testimony to the vehicle, it surely was not their favorite drive. It may have been within their price range, but not for the average American. If you wanted something close to a monster-truck on the road, maybe it was for the likes of you.
