Do Not Be Offended If You Are Called A Gringo

Even if you are not American, the term “Gringo” is a catch-all term for foreigners, particularly the blonde, blue-eyed persuasion. It just so happens that most locals stereotype white foreigners with this monicker. Unless they are familiar with you and your name, you will be referred to as “Gringo”. It is not meant as an insult, unless it is done in an aggressive tone and manner. Then the rest is up to you. But if it is done in an innocent, humorous way, take it for what it is. A name is just a name. Try not to be too sensitive about it.
