Colombia produces some of the best coffee in the world, sadly, most is exported abroad. Only a few places serve the quality coffee you have heard about. It is no surprise that this is so, remember exports earn more, so domestic consumption of the world-renowned coffee is limited. Big cities like Bogota have many cafes that serve the quality you hear about, and the Coffee Region definitely. But not other places. So try not to get disappointed if you order a cup, and it tastes like muck. Worse is if you are given instant coffee. Shocking but true.
