Never Call Downtown Philly “Downtown”

While every single state you visit in America has a “downtown,” the Philly locals don’t actually call theirs “downtown.” In fact, you should never call it downtown unless you want the world to know that you’re definitely not from there. No matter how much you try, Philadelphians have an entire way of walking and talking so you won’t actually be able to fool anyone anyway. But if you don’t want to seem like such a newbie to this part of the world, be sure to call their downtown “Center City,” which is how they refer to it. It may have a different name, but the Center City, like any other downtown, is still riddled with bars, restaurants, cafes and seriously hundreds of people everywhere.
