Never Think About Eating Early

Everything moves at a slower pace in Spain. Such as the start time for meals. Lunch is served between 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. While for dinner time, most restaurants won’t even begin serving until 8 p.m. (sometimes even as late as midnight).  This would leave a significant time between lunch and dinner. If you can’t survive without eating anything until that time, feel free to eat tapas while waiting for your dinner reservations.
Another good thing about eating tapas, is that you get to experience something that is particular to Spanish custom. Tapas is just a small plate of bite-size morsels that you can eat along with your drink (which is typically a wine-based drink). The origins of tapas are practical, bread or a small plate of ham and/or olives were used to keep dust and insects away from the drink. The literal meaning of tapa is lid or cover.
