You might be used to fast and efficient service whenever you go out. If that is the case, it will take a while to get used to the slower pace of the Spaniards. This is especially true in restaurants, it may take some time for your server to get your order, it will most likely take longer for your order to be brought out. You just have to get used to the fact that waiters in Spain are not under the same pressure compared to the ones in the USA to turn over tables. Don’t get stressed over this, just enjoy the country’s slower way of life. Enjoy a glass of wine or two, chit chat with your companions to pass the time. Just remember that you won’t be rushed and you will have to ask for the check when you are ready to leave.
