Weimaraners are also known as the Grey Ghost or Grey Dog due to their eye-catching, shiny, grey coat. Formerly used as hunting dogs, they are highly intelligent and energetic. However, they are reserved with people they do not know, dominant with other dogs, and predatory toward smaller animals such as birds, cats, and rabbits. They are also large enough to knock over and injure young children. To curb their potential aggression, they need to be given enough socialization and proper training beyond the beginner level.
