This muscular breed is a cousin of the Doberman. Rottweilers were originally bred to be draft dogs, hauling carts and guarding homesteads. They are active and intelligent, and they make good guard dogs. With a bite force of 328 PSI, untrained Rottweilers can be aggressive, destructive, and potentially dangerous. They can also become violent when neglected by their owners. Since 1982, there have 714 recorded Rottweiler attacks on 365 children and 210 adults, killing 113 people and disfiguring 413 with only 8.5% of the victims managing to avoid more serious injury.
