Also called a Japanese Mastiff, these are massive dogs that can weigh up to 200 pounds, and they can pull and haul about 3,000 pounds. They were bred to be huge dog-fighting machines, and though they are now typically calm and gentle, they still have tendencies toward aggression and are banned in some countries including the UK. With a bite strength of 556 PSI, Tosas can lacerate a threat’s arm. Because of their immense size, agility, and strength, Tosas need to be bred, socialized and trained well by an experienced and confident handler.
