Originally from Southern Africa, Rhodesian Ridgebacks are reputed to be able to keep lions at bay from a prey while their master makes the kill. They are hunting dogs with predatory instincts, and they also have a powerful bite at 224 PSI. They are loyal and intelligent and have protective instincts toward strangers, but they can also be overly sensitive and become aggressive if without proper training and good socialization.
