It is an excellent place to find peace and relaxation which, honestly, are things that you should be doing more of once retired. It is exactly because of this that Washington ranks second, with California being first, as a popular destination for physically active seniors to retire in.

Unfortunately, Washington’s natural beauty isn’t enough to save it from appearing on this list. This is because of its relatively high cost of living, which is something that retirees consider seriously when choosing a place to settle in after retirement.
