The stunning French actress, singer, dancer and fashion model, Brigitte Anne-Marie Bardot, was one of the most famous sex symbols of the 1950s. She posed for Elle, the leading women’s magazine in France, at the age of 15, and she started her acting career two years after. Brigitte Bardot received international recognition for her role in “And God Created Woman,” a French drama film about an immoral teenager. The movie became a big hit in the British box office and around the world but was condemned by the National Legion of Decency in the United States. She is naturally brunette, but she dyed her hair for an Italian movie where the director gave her the role of a blonde. She was happy with her new fair hair that she decided to keep the color.
After 47 films, several musicals, and over 60 songs, Brigitte withdrew from the entertainment industry before her 39th birthday and became an animal rights activist. She is a strong supporter of animal protection, denouncing consumption of horse meat, hunting of seals, torturing of bears, and the slaughter of tigers, rhinos, and dolphins.
