Europe Or Bust, Beverley Pilkington (1975)

The 22-year old British model from Essex wears the white pro-Europe shirt with the slogan, “EUROPE or bust!” to support the country’s continued membership in the European Economic Community (EEC). While cabinet members had opposing views regarding Britain’s sustained membership in or withdrawal from the EEC, the majority of voters, including Beverley Pilkington, supported the “Yes” campaign, maintaining the decision for the country’s inclusion in the EEC.

Aside from the political campaign, the curvy Beverley Pilkington also appeared on album covers and calendars of Top of the Pops, a British music chart television program. Moreover, she was featured on Page 3, a British newspaper that has a tradition of publishing an image of a topless glamour model on their third page. She was also famous for her saucy promotional ads for Big D, a brand of British peanuts and snacks.
