Extreme sports, anyone? Sure, it’s not freediving or paraskiing or volcano boarding, but it’s no mean feat to hit or block a large ball while keeping your balance on poles—and still manage to look great for the camera. These young women at the beach in Venice, California decided to step up their game and make things more interesting and challenging by playing volleyball on stilts. Considering there are no straps fastening their feet to the foot-rests, these ladies would have to grip these long wooden rods, pull them out of the sand, maintain their balance with each step and make sure they don’t bump into each other—and yes, all this while playing a more complicated game of volleyball. At least these women got to have fun at the beach a decade after restricting and cumbersome beachwear.
