The Good Witch, Billie Burke (1939)

Readitforward

We saw a lot of witches on the street and on social media last Halloween. There were traditional witches with brooms, sea witches with tentacles, a Scarlet Witch that blasted hex bolts, and a green-skinned Wicked Witch of the West—but no one can pull off Glinda, the Good Witch of the South, as well as Billie Burke.
Mary William Ethelbert Appleton Burke, the famous American Broadway actress, is best known for her portrayal of Glinda in the musical film, The Wizard of Oz. While Billie is primarily known for her role as the Good Witch, she went on to play leads on Broadway. She became a phenomenal success in the movies, too. She also had an extensive career on radio, having her own radio sitcom, The Billie Burke Show, as well as guesting in several radio series.
