The alluring American actress and model, Sharon Marie Tate Polanski, was regularly featured on the covers of fashion magazines. She began her career in film in 1961 with the religious epic film, Barabbas, and she received a Golden Globe Award nomination for her performance as Jennifer North in the 1967 cult drama film, Valley of the Dolls. She was acclaimed as one of Hollywood’s most promising stars. Sadly, her life was violently cut short when members of the cult, Manson Family, entered her rented home on August 8, 1969 and brutally murdered her, her three friends, and a guest visiting the caretaker. She was nine months pregnant when she was fatally stabbed numerous times, and she was laid to rest with her son in her arms.
Sharon Tate did not only leave a legacy in film and television, but more importantly, she gave victims of crimes and their families a voice, with her mother’s commitment and devotion to make sure the people responsible for infamous crimes stay behind bars.
