Peeing On Tires

Whether it’s their owner’s car or their neighbor’s, dogs seem to have this irresistible urge of peeing on the tires. Dogs pee not just to relieve themselves, but also to communicate to other dogs. Peeing announces to other dogs that they were there, and also to mark their territory. It’s not just tires, as dogs like to pee on vertical objects, such as telephone poles or fire hydrants, and they always aim for the nose level, so it can be easily noticed by other dogs. But why is it that they often choose tires to pee on? It’s because of the smells on the tires, as you can only imagine what things they have rolled on and therefore covered with all sorts of smells that attracts dogs to them.
