Digging Holes In The Yard

owntheyard

Don’t be surprised if you find your lawn or backyard with holes in them when you let your dog loose as this is a natural instinct for them. They may be bored, especially when left alone for long periods of time, and may suffer from separation anxiety, given how companion-oriented they are. But they can also be trying to hide their toys from other dogs who they think might get them. Most of the time it can be to find a cooler spot to lie down when outdoors, as the ground is cooler below the surface. Certain types of breeds are more inclined to do this, particularly terriers, which are known to be notorious diggers.
