Being a Bartender Was A Thing

Boredom Files

Although being a cowboy was basically a profession, as was being a barber and dentist in one, or saloon girl, another major job was being a bartender. People were incredibly proud of the fact that they were bartenders, and oftentimes posed in photographs at their bar. This photo above was taken of the first saloon that was ever established, back in 1822 in the state of Wyoming, and it certainly wasn’t the last. Bartenders had their hands full making drinks, as well as making sure that people didn’t die on their watch.
