Outhouses Were The Real Deal

Unpuzzle Finance

Back before indoor plumbing was an actual thing, people in the Wild West built outhouses to use as toilets. This meant that it was a tiny four-walled wooden box with no running water and a hole built in the middle meant for doing your business. People had no choice but to use this extremely foul-smelling “bathroom” or search for a bush in the middle of the prairie to relieve their bowels. Whatever their choice was, it was obviously gross but that was just the way it was back then. Plus the fact that they didn’t clean them meant that there were tons of flies, bacteria, and foul smells coming from most of them.
