Given the fashion of cowboys, you know one when you see one, that’s just a fact. But while their Stetsons, blue jeans, boots, and kerchiefs were quite stylish, they all served a purpose. Cowboys were up against some of the worst dust you can imagine. Their kerchiefs were needed to keep all that dust from entering their mouths and noses, especially when they were riding the trails. These days, kerchiefs are just used for trendy and chic fashion statements, but their origins will always be for a much better cause.
