Another strange practice that some people still believe in until today was the use of fortune tellers. Aside from guns, alcohol and prostitutes, the Wild West had a penchant for fortune stories. Otherwise known as “gypsies,” these professionals could supposedly read the palms of hands, see people’s futures in their crystal balls, and read Tarot cards, ironically, making a fortune as they did it. Most people truly believed in their clairvoyant capabilities, and until today, there are still loads of people that practice these dark arts.
