In the Wild West, Mexican women were also known to make soap, with one very strange ingredient. They also used the popular yucca plant to make soap, calling it soap-weed. But what made it stand out was the fact that they made it using animal fat. Because of that, it was incredibly harsh on the skin, often causing people to get rashes because of it.
