And Soap Caused Rashes

In the Wild West, Mexican women were also known to make soap, with one very strange ingredient. They also used the popular yucca plant to make soap, calling it soap-weed. But what made it stand out was the fact that they made it using animal fat. Because of that, it was incredibly harsh on the skin, often causing people to get rashes because of it. Crazy thing is that back then, people believed that when their skin was too clean, germs would end up permeating it and causing more issues to occur. They didn’t realize that being clean was actually a really good thing.
