Don’t Write Norwegians Off As Unfriendly

While Norway is famous for its cold winters, its inhabitants are far from being cold and distant even if they appear to be so when they refuse to maintain eye contact or talk with you. They are just slightly more introverted and significantly more intuitive than other people in the world. The generally tall, blond, and blue-eyed folk are shy, humble, and introverted, and they don’t do small talk. They won’t greet everyone they meet or approach a random stranger and strike up a conversation. Particularly when traveling on public transport, Norwegians won’t chat up someone they don’t know on the bus, tram, or train. However, all this changes during Helgefylla or whenever you find them in a bar or wherever there’s alcohol involved. On these occasions, the Norwegians become very friendly and outgoing. Once powered by alcohol, Norwegians find it easier to chat and would even ask immigrant taxi drivers about their homeland.
