Don’t Take The Altitude Lightly

Source: https://www.tourleadersperu.com

High altitude training has long been an effective method to strengthen one’s stamina and endurance for athletes so don’t underestimate the altitude and make the mistake of not getting acclimated for at least a few days before attempting the Inca trail or doing rigorous activities in other elevated regions.  It would also be best to not drink alcohol, take plenty of water, and get in some nice, quality sleep while you’re adjusting to the conditions to help lessen the chances of you experiencing altitude sickness or altitude mountain sickness (AMS) which may manifest itself through symptoms like headaches, vomiting, tiredness, and dizziness. Don’t forget to bring sunblock as well.
