Don’t Expect All Cuisine To Be Spicy

Peruvians are very proud of their cuisine, and rightly so, with the country known for the spicy ceviche, which is a seafood dish made from fresh raw fish preserved in citrus juices, such as lemon or lime, and spiced with ají, chili or other seasonings, as well as the rocoto relleno, or their variety of the stuffed peppers. However, don’t expect their entire cuisine to be on the same level when it comes to being spicy.  You may even find out that not all ceviche served to tourists are spicy unless you specify that you want the traditional one.  After all, you can’t just directly compare a spicy dish from a different country with a dish from another.
