Don’t Be Afraid To Bargain

When it comes to shopping or buying souvenirs in known tourist areas, don’t be afraid to haggle or bargain as the advertised price are always inflated for maximum profit. This practice is accepted and applies as well to taxis who don’t use meters and other modes of transportation without a fixed price. Tourists will always be looked at as potential income, so don’t hesitate to ask what the price is and bargain with the proprietor to a more reasonable amount that’s acceptable to both parties.  However, don’t haggle to the point of lowballing the locals as they do depend on what they’re selling to make a living.
