Don’t Forget To Bring A Gift For The Host

When invited to come over to a Peruvian’s home, don’t forget to show your appreciation by bringing a token or gift for the host as this is considered a polite gesture.  You can opt for a small box of sweets, flowers, for women or a bottle of wine or cigarettes for men, but be mindful and don’t overdo it by presenting extravagant or very expensive gifts as the hosts might get overwhelmed and feel that they need to give something as well.  If you’re visiting in a remote area, simple items that would be of much value to children such as color pencils or crayons will be appreciated.
