When trying to hail a taxi or finding accommodation, don’t go through unofficial means or through people that hang out at public places like the train station, or other popular areas like the Independence Square. These people usually wait for tourists to provide assistance in getting the aforementioned as a means to get a commission or tip and while some can be trusted, the prices that you will be offered will be much higher than what you can get by yourself when you call through a taxi service or book using a ride hailing service. It is also better if you book your accommodation in advance using reliable booking sites where the discounts are genuine.
