Source: https://www.goabroad.com

When you get invited to someone’s home, don’t forget to remove your shoes before entering. You will most likely be travelling during the summer, but take note that summer is the wettest season in the country. The owners of the house make it a point to maintain the cleanliness of their home, especially when welcoming guests, and not removing your shoes is considered rude. The host will usually offer some slippers, called tapochki, to be worn so you don’t walk with just your socks on. Because of this, make sure you have on some presentable socks so you won’t feel embarrassed when asked to take off your shoe.
