Don’t Turn Down Food

Don’t cause a Ukrainian host’s offense by turning down food and drinks when visiting. Ukrainians are known for their hospitality and go to great lengths to ensure that their guests are well taken care of, and this applies especially to food where you will be sure to be offered a lot. So be prepared for at least a small feast and don’t refuse a dish to avoid coming off as rude. Try everything and hope you have room for second helpings. Don’t worry as their popular salo or pork fat and borscht are excellent. Try not having leftovers and when you’re finished, then place your utensils across the plate so the host won’t give you more.
