Metal outdoor sculptures often lose their beauty once corrosion and rust set in. Rust forms when iron (commonly found in steel) becomes exposed to oxygen and water. Given enough time, anything made out of iron, like outdoor sculptures, will eventually turn into rust and fall apart. 
Outdoor decorations made out of iron cost money. Neglecting them and allowing them to disintegrate due to rust is such a waste. Revitalize your garden pieces by spraying them with WD-40 and polishing them with a clean cloth.
