Artificial limbs, usually made of rubberized plastic, tend to stick onto skin when worn for long periods of time. Many people who wear them have, at one time or another, experienced difficulty in taking them off. Sweat and grime can increase the likelihood that a prosthesis becomes stuck.
To help remove a stuck prosthesis, simply spray the area where it attaches with some WD-40 and coax it a little until it slides off. The lubricant contains solvents that breakdown grime. Its hydrophobic properties also coat surfaces well, separating skin from the rubberized plastic most prosthetics are made of.
