38. Separate Stuck Glassware

Sometimes, stored glassware become stuck to each other, making them difficult to separate. This usually happens when glasses are stacked after being washed under hot water. The hot water makes glasses expand, and as they cool down, slowly contract, gripping the next glass tighter.  When this happens, one cannot simply force them apart without fear of breaking them. 

So what can you do?

Spray them with some WD-40 and wait a few seconds for it to work its magic. Once they’re separated, make sure to give them a thorough wash before using.
