Lipstick stains are a pain to remove, just ask any cheating husband. Kidding aside, WD-40 has been proven in removing sticky lipstick stains from clothing, regardless of how they ended up there in the first place.
Before applying WD-40, it is best to check the care label on the stained piece of clothing. You should also test whether the lubricant works with the fabric by spraying a tiny amount on an inconspicuous area. This is because some chemicals found in WD-40 might end up damaging the fabric, something that you wouldn’t want to happen.
Once you’ve determined that the lubricant is safe to use, it is recommended to work on the stain as soon as possible. This is to avoid the lipstick from spreading and going deeper into the fibers of the fabric. 
So how does WD-40 work? Its hydrophobic properties loosen the stain’s “grip” on the fabric, making it easier to wash off with laundry detergent.
