Sealing your wooden floor with polyurethane helps protect it from wear and tear. However, a newly-sealed surface might give-off an un-natural shine. Some people find this look too “synthetic” for their tastes and prefer more natural-looking floors instead.
If you find that your polyurethane floor appears too shiny, there’s a quick way to tone it down. Just wipe the surface with a cloth sprayed with some WD-40 to remove some of the shine and make it look more natural. Because of WD-40’s versatility, you no longer need to have your floor resurfaced, a project that is not only time-consuming but expensive as well.
