Preventing weeds from growing can be a headache as they seem to grow in all the places that they’re not supposed to. They seem to particularly like growing in pavement cracks which, if not addressed, can cause damage to the surface. 

Weed seeds funnel into tiny holes on pavements where they wait until conditions are right for them to grow These recessed areas on pavements collect dirt and compost which provide weeds the nutrients for them to grow. The holes protect them and provide them with shelter during the cold months, preventing them from dying and allowing to wreak havoc on your garden come spring. 

Thankfully, spraying some WD-40 into these cracks prevents weed from spreading further, stopping them from doing further damage.
